We’d love to have you join us as we worship the Lord twice on each Sunday. Our church services are a special time of meeting and fellowship with God. In our worship we remember that He is our God and we are His people. Some might call our worship “traditional” but we’d prefer to call it respectful. Since we are gathering to meet with God, we attempt to come with our hearts and minds ready for worship, and you might notice that generally most will come neatly dressed (though understand that there is no dress-code required to join us in worshiping God!).
When the service is about to begin, the minister, the elders and deacons enter into the auditorium. After being greeted, the church service follows a set pattern or liturgy that involves singing, prayer, the reading of Scripture, preaching and a thank offering. The church services normally last about an hour, with the sermon (preaching) taking about half of that time.
Singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, is a wonderful gift that believers have been given to praise God. There are 150 Psalms in the Bible and these have been set to music so that we can sing them in both our private worship and our our public worship. Similarly, we have hymns which are taken from different parts of Scripture and put to music. These songs are part of the worship that we offer to our God. Our children learn them from an early age and the songs go on to be a wonderful source of praise and comfort throughout our lives.
